Local food production – at Kilde Farm, we engage in various seasonal food production activities, with a focus on quality, animal welfare, and high-quality ingredients. Among other things, we offer pork from our free-range pigs, raised in spacious, natural conditions. Egg Production at Kilde Farm

– Sustainable eggs with a focus on animal welfare and quality

At Kilde Farm, we use an innovative system for egg production—our eggmobile. This mobile chicken coop is designed to provide our hens with optimal conditions for both physical and mental well-being. By moving the eggmobile regularly, the hens have access to fresh grass, varied grazing areas, and a natural diet consisting of insects, plants, and seeds. This system contributes to a more natural life for the hens and reduces the impact on grazing areas. A focus on animal welfare is essential to us at Kilde Farm. Our hens live in an environment that supports their natural instincts, including the ability to move freely and interact socially. This leads to greater well-being, which in turn is reflected in the quality of the eggs we produce. The eggs from our hens have a distinct flavor, with the intense, golden yolk resulting from the hens’ natural diet. This production method yields a nutritious and flavorful egg, which also has a higher content of omega-3 and vitamins compared to traditionally produced eggs.

At Kilde Farm, we are proud to offer eggs that are not only sustainable but also the result of ethical and responsible farming. By prioritizing animal welfare and sustainability, we produce eggs that both taste better and contribute to more environmentally friendly production. We sell eggs straight from the farm; these eggs are available from May through October. The sales stand is in the little red house at the entrance to the farm. Is it sold out? Beef from Kilde Farm – Quality beef from Dexter cattle in Trysil

At Kilde Farm, we are proud to offer Dexter beef, produced with the utmost respect for animal welfare and sustainability. Our cattle are of the Dexter breed, a small and hardy breed known for its flavourful, tender and juicy meat. Our Dexter cattle live in the peaceful and beautiful surroundings of the Trysil forest, where they have plenty of space to graze and roam freely. This contributes to both animal welfare and a meat product of the highest quality.

What makes Dexter beef unique?

Tasty and tender meat: Dexter beef is known for its fine marbling, which results in a juicy, flavourful cut with a rich and intense taste. The meat is perfect for grilling, roasting and slow cooking. Natural grazing in the Trysil Forest: Dexter cattle graze on clean, natural pastures in the Trysil Forest, where they live freely and stress-free. This lifestyle results in a meat product that both tastes better and has a higher nutritional content. Latest production – Meat available from autumn 2027: this is the latest production at Kilde Farm, and we look forward to offering our Dexter beef to our customers from autumn 2027. We offer you the opportunity to buy whole or half carcasses, pre-packaged in cuts, directly from the farm. The meat will be delivered vacuum-packed to ensure freshness and preserve the flavour.
